The Weekly Update

Ok, so.....

Precious and DH came back from the Frozen Tundra after spending time with Son & Family. Precious continued to be on break this week, meaning she slept a lot and got to see some movies on weeknights. Specifically, she and I saw Ghost Rider on Wednesday, and she and DH saw Reno 911!Miami on Friday. GR was ok, but slooow in the pacing, like an hour of material/special effects stretched to 1:50. The DH actually said R911 was bad, and the man laughed at Hot Shots Part Deaux, so be warned.

Otherwise, it was shopping and weighing in and sleeping in and drum lesson and hanging out at the house. Another fine standard week of middle class living awaits us beginning tomorrow. Cheerio.

All sports all the time

No, not me. I'm well known for sleeping with the ESPN on as a night light when the DH is away or I'm traveling, but I couldn't blog sports all the time unless I got paid, well paid.

But, I've added these fellows to the blog roll because a) they asked nicely and b) their content checked out and c) their content actually agreed with my opinion that this is the dead zone of the sports year... other than the magic words "Pitchers and catchers report", we're on hold until March Madness (so-so for me) and Opening Day (yessss!!). Oh, and they agree that the SEC RULES!! Heh.

Read and enjoy - cheers!

Saved by the Frolicking Rodents!

Precious tells me, those darn groundhogs better come out and frolic today, is all I'm saying.

Yep, she has a good vocabulary ("frolic") does the Precious. She turns "Sweet 16" in a few weeks...*sigh*...

Anyhow, apparently both Pux Phil and Gen. Lee (now a 2-star general, it seems) agree we'll have an early spring. Even though it's going to be below-normal-cold for another week. Right, then. Clean off the patio furniture and schedule up some spray tan. I tried to find some decent groundhog art for the banner this month, but everything that was free was either not very good or too cutesy. I don't do cutesy. So I settled for the transition from snow to Valentine's, while acknowledging that this only technically covers half the month.

Semi-holidays like Groundhog Day make me think: aren't you glad we don't live in a time when people really do worry about rodents running from their shadows, or chicken entrails or what-not to order their lives? I know there are folks who really, really follow astrology and other pseudo-sciences, but it's not like we're the Romans, checking the slaughtered cow liver or something to figure out public policy toward our provinces.

Although some days, opinion polls don't strike me as much better.

Well, off to email and PowerPoint and other such delights. Ya'll have a nice day. Cheers!
