April's Here
A little banner change, some color changes to herald spring.
We survived the weekend trip with the band to Myrtle Beach, S.C. Nice beach, IMHO. Seems to be a perfectly fine vacation town. I wasn't crazy about Broadway on the Beach, which is like the same seaside tee-shirt-fudge-shop-overpriced-restaurants village cloned five times and set around a lake, but mostly that was because the plans changed and we were there for 8 hours. At least there was a Starbucks. Medieval Times was as I remembered, but more filling (the chicken - to die for). Word to the wise: do not get a low table, say, within 2-3 rows of the arena. Horse snot is not a good condiment for chicken. Or anything else.
The killer of course was the drive back, 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. No, I did not get the times mixed up. DH took a nap in the afternoon in the truck so he could survive it. I just napped about 30 minutes in the car around 1:30 a.m. when he stopped for caffeine. By 3 a.m. my brain was screaming for sleep. But we made it back, and unloaded the marimbas and their brethren instruments, and then all collapsed in our beds until about 2 p.m. What fun! Can't wait till next year!!
